Mentoring session #3: experimental musical collaborations

On Tuesday 20 February 2024 I had a final catch up mentoring session with Peter before undertaking the first experimental music collaboration session on Friday.

We went through my session plan, developed to have a pallet of ideas to be drawn from as the session unfolds.

These include musical starting points — a range of musical invitations to collaboration, developed to be open and responsive — as well as tools and approaches for developing, re-working and managing the inter-relationships of ideas which emerge.

Critically, alongside the planned activities, are aims and outcomes for the session, which need to be returned to, to ensure that the planned activities are both responsive to the unfolding of the session, but also, continue to move us towards the intended musical outcome.
